Just my luck. Running into a girl and getting slapped for a snarky comment on her appearance is my bad, but getting seated right next to her?!

Just my luck. Running into a guy and getting commented on my body is bad enough for a day, but getting seated right next to him?!
Sparks gonna fly, I think quietly. Mr. Gonzalez ignores this reunion of sorts and continues with his roll call.
"Present" A gruff, accented sound emerges from behind us.
Unknowingly Harrison Taylor and I turn to see whoever responded to this name. A hulking giant of a man, about 200cm by my estimation, sitting just behind Taylor. And upon seeing us looking at him, he delivers a hostile glare.

"Do you wish to step on an adventure?" The sage-like voice asks, with an inviting tone.
"Well, who doesn't? Where do I begin?" My reply to the sage, still hidden from view. Many a hero from movies, comics and TV shows have begun, many yet to come. I'm merely one of them.
"Be patient, young man, and listen to what we have in store."
The sage continues, "Throughout this journey, you will make friends, loyal to you as you are to them,"
Three peoples' silhouettes appear before me, each holding weapons. Two boys, one with a body unlike mine, holding a sword and a machine gun; another looking quite buff, armed with a shotgun and a rocket launcher, and a girl, shorter than any girl at my age of 16, holding a ri
